Steven D. Merrill, 72, of Preston, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Steve was born on April 4, 1954, in Preston, Idaho, to DeMar Wettstein Merrill and LaRae Dockstader Merrill. He attended Preston High School and later studied diesel mechanics at Idaho State University.

Steve is survived by his son, Jason (Tonya) Merrill; his grandsons, Dakoda, Dylan, and Nash; his daughter-in-law, Kassidy; his step-grandchildren, Diondre, Keyshawn, and Kaiya; and his siblings, Michael (Sandy) Merrill, Robert (Jean) Merrill, Kent (Loralee) Merrill, Kirk (Charleen) Merrill, and Karen Harris.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Merrill, and by his parents.
