Obituary

Quain Stacy Peterson, beloved Father Grandfather and Uncle, Peacefully passed away in his home in Grace Idaho on March 3rd, 2026. Reuniting in Heaven with his Parents LaRue and LaNard Peterson, his brothers Richard, Mark and Clair Peterson, his Son in Law Chris Lefebvre, and his partner of 20 years Joleen Cole.

He was born in Logan Utah. As a child he loved spending time with his Grandpa Baird and working at their family farm in Mink Creek ID. He learned the value of hard work at a young age by watching his Grandpa and working with his beloved Mother at the state nursery.

At age 15 he met his high school sweetheart Cindy Wickham. Two years later they were married and blessed with their first born Aimee. He then took a job at the Utah State Prison and after living in a couple of small apartments they proudly bought their first home in Draper Ut, where they welcomed their daughter Audra and Son Joshua. He then took a job at Pioneer Trail State Park where he worked for 21 years, caring for the animals including the oxen, which he trained and led in the Day’s of ‘47 parade each year. At the park he also worked with troubled youth, under the Genesis program and helped improve a lot of lives. Life then led him to Idaho to spend more time with his brothers. This is where he met his beautiful partner Joleen and opened a Thrift Store.

His favorite pastimes were sitting by the campfire, fishing with his son, cooking dutch ovens and tossing back cold ones with his friends at the Owl Club. He loved watching football and Nascar, listening to Rock and Country music and singing in the band Sky Highway. He lived life on his terms, and wouldn't have it any other way.

He is survived by his Children Aimee Lefebvre, Audra Peterson, Joshua and Miriam Peterson. His grandchildren Daven, Leeya and Isabel, his brothers Shane, Lantz (Tamara), sister Verla (Jason) and many nieces and nephews.

Quain will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, heart of gold and will forever be in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.

Graveside services will be held at 11Am on  Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Logan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully requests donations may be made to offset funeral expenses. Please use the donation tab on this page to contribute directly to his funeral.
