Obituary

Melvin Craig Casper, 76, of Pocatello, passed away on August 26, 2026, at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, following a recent illness. He was born on December 8, 1949.

Craig graduated from high school in Salt Lake City, Utah. He went on to work as a train engineer for Union Pacific Railroad, a career that was an important part of his life.

Craig married Mary Ann Goodsell; they had two children together, Paul and Angela, and later divorced. He then married Roberta Roubidoux, who preceded him in death.

He also enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He loved playing horseshoes, bowling, and driving his side-by-side at the lake with his friends. These were some of the times he enjoyed most, and they will be remembered by those who knew him.

Craig is survived by his son, Paul Casper, and his daughter, Angela Casper. He leaves behind his brother, Jed, and his sisters, Lora Lee and Penny. He will also be lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren, Paige, Corben, and Landon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Casper, who died in 2010, and by his parents, Arlen Casper and Carma Rae Headman Casper.

Craig will be remembered with love by his family and friends, and his memory will remain in the hearts of those who shared in his life.

At his request, no services will be conducted. To share a favorite memory of Craig, or to offer condolences to the family, please leave a tribute on this page.
