Laurie Payne

February 12, 1956 — April 11, 2024

Cornish

In loving memory of Laurie R. Payne, who bid farewell on April 11th, 2024, in Cornish, Utah. Laurie graced this world on February 12th, 1956, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that touched many hearts.

Laurie's journey led her to the Utah State Tax Commission, where she met her first love, Gary. Together, they shared a love story filled with laughter and a bond that lasted for a lifetime.

After Gary passed, Laurie found new love and happiness with Ken, who became the true love of her life. They spent many fun-filled years together and shared countless dreams. Laurie's love for animals led her to a shared passion with Ken, as they trained labs for competition and found solace and joy in each other's company.

Laurie and Ken shared many interests, including their love for animals and the outdoors. One day, while driving past a farm in Cornish, Utah, Laurie urged Ken to stop and turn around. This moment sparked the beginning of a new adventure for them, as they later purchased the property and grew a farm of cows together.

Laurie was known for her knack for making lifelong friends wherever she went. Her infectious humor brought joy to everyone she met, and her love for animals was unmatched. Her first dog, Izzy, was her buddy, always by her side. When Izzy passed away, she found Bailey, who was growing into a companion.

One of Laurie's greatest joys was spending time with her family. She loved celebrating birthdays and making Christmas magical for others. Her grandkids held a special place in her heart, and she spoiled them with love and attention.

Laurie shared a special bond with her daughter Emily; they were best friends and supported each other through difficult times.

Laurie is survived by her devoted husband, Ken Payne; daughters, Emily Struthers and Julie Sheriff; son, Rick Payne; daughter-in-law, Kristine Payne; sons-in-law, CJ Struthers and Reed Sheriff; and grandchildren, Michael Sanders, Makayla Girard, Dylan Payne, Carson Sheriff, Aiden Sheriff, Savannah Payne, Mike Freeman, and Tom Freeman. May they find comfort in the memories shared with Laurie.

In addition, Laurie was preceded in death by her brother, Will, who passed before her.

In her final days, Laurie was surrounded by family and friends, who filled her heart with love and warmth.

As we remember Laurie, let's cherish the laughter she brought into our lives and the love she shared with everyone. May she rest in peace, knowing her kindness will live forever in our hearts.
