Obituary

Joshua was born in Riverton, Utah and spent his first 5 years of life in West Valley City, Utah. That little 6 pounds 2 ounce baby boy changed his parents' world forever and brought so much joy into the lives of everyone who knew him. He sparked so much unconditional love in our hearts that he may be the very reason that some of his cousins came to be, as his sweet personality spread a bit of baby fever around. He had these beautiful blue eyes that just gazed upon the world with so much love and curiosity. He was almost always smiling, and his giggle was incredibly infectious. It was impossible not to love him from the very first moment you met him.

Joshua's family moved to the charming town of Weston, Idaho when he was almost 6 years old and his little brother, River, was only 3 years old. Followed by that was his parents' wedding in their own backyard where him and his brother were the most handsome little gentlemen carrying a sign down the aisle that read, "Daddy look, here comes Mommy." A year later his sister Lily was born, and his sister Damiana entered the family two years after that. Joshua was so fiercely protective of his younger siblings and he loved them more than anything else in this world.

He went to Westside School District where the number of people he loved, and who loved him, grew each year. Whether you were a student, teacher, or worked in administration, you fell in love with this kid the moment you met him. He played basketball, football, and his most favorite of all, baseball. His passion for baseball was intense and he dreamed of playing in the major leagues some day. He practiced almost every day of the year. There is a baseball field at the park across the street from Joshua's house, and he and a couple of his friends decided one day to fix it up so they could all play ball. They did a beautiful job and Joshua was always going over to make sure it was maintained. You would also see him in the front yard hitting baseballs into a net, or at the tennis court working on his pitch (even if it was raining). With his love for baseball, his circle of friends grew and spread into Preston, Idaho where he continued to touch so many lives.

He loved anything outdoors and he especially loved camping. Him, his cousins, and his siblings would ride four wheelers and dirt bikes, play in the nearest body of water, and go on the most amazing hikes. He even met Bigfoot once. If you know, you know. He went on his very first elk hunt with his dad this year, and it was such an important moment for him. He had the most incredible relationships with all of his family members, and he loved to interact with them in any way he could. There were deep conversations, Pokémon battles, video games, family game nights, movies, going to the gym, wrestling, whipped cream pranks, Lagoon, cousin made videos, and so much more.

He adored his siblings, parents, his Nana, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He even "adopted" grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and second parents along the way. He loved absolutely everyone.

Joshua was truly the most amazing kid you could ever know. His heart was so incredibly big and he felt everything so deeply. If he met you, you were now his friend and he would do anything for you. It didn't matter if he was having a bad day himself, if he knew you needed a smile, a hug, or someone to talk to he was there. He loved in a way that was contagious. His battle was long and difficult, and he fought so hard and so courageously. He was an inspiration to so many, and the number of people who loved him is breathtaking. His loss is so profound and will be felt deeply for many years to come. His family always said "I love you to the moon and back" and his mother found a note she saved of how Joshua used to respond back to that when he was little, "I love you the mostests all the way to the stars." So Joshua, we love you the mostest to the moon and stars and back, kiddo. Always and forever.
