Obituary

Joan Marie Middleton

September 25, 1957 – November 2, 2026

Joan Marie Middleton, 69, passed away on November 2, 2026, in Weston, Idaho, surrounded by family.

Joan was born on September 25, 1957, in Chadron, Nebraska, to Betty and Derl McMeekin. After her mother remarried Donald Conyac Sr., Joan moved to Colorado during her early elementary years. She later settled in Longmont, Colorado, where she attended and graduated from Niwot High School in 1975.

Joan met and married Jeff Davis in Longmont, Colorado, and together they welcomed two children, Jeremy and Jennifer, who would forever hold a special place in her heart.

Throughout her professional career, Joan worked for several technology companies, steadily advancing into management positions through her dedication, hard work, and determination.

In 2008, Joan married Butch Middleton. Together, they built a life filled with adventure and treasured memories. They enjoyed traveling, spending time at the racetrack, and fishing. Their journey took them from Brighton, Colorado, to Asherville, Kansas, then Berthoud, Colorado, before ultimately making Weston, Idaho, their home in 2024.

Those who knew Joan will remember her for her kindness, her generous heart, and her wonderful sense of humor. She had a special ability to find the good in life and make the best of whatever circumstances came her way. Her creativity was another beautiful part of who she was. She loved painting and drawing, baking, and spending time with the people she loved. One of her favorite ways to spread a little happiness was painting rocks and leaving them in parks for children to discover and keep. It was a simple gesture that perfectly reflected Joan’s heart: finding joy in the little things and sharing that joy with others.

Above all, Joan cherished her family and the time spent together. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity, and countless memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Joan is survived by her husband, Butch Middleton; her children, Jeremy (Marissa) Davis and Jennifer (Brandon) Camp; her stepchildren, Zach (Tonia) Middleton and Stacy (Audrey) Ryder; her grandchildren, Brittnee, Caden, Grant, Emilea, Noah, Kymmie, Brody, Riley, Charlotte, Ella, and Brooks; and her great-grandchild, Percy. She is also survived by her siblings, Cheryl (Greg) Fehr, Donald Conyac Jr. (Jennifer), and Patty Conyac, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty; stepfather, Donald Conyac Sr.; father, Derl McMeekin; and nephew, Henry Fehr.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held in the spring or summer of 2027. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered in the countless little moments of joy she left behind.
