Obituary

Helen Dawn Graham, a woman whose life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an enduring bond to both family and community, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at her residence. Born on July 30, 1947, in Pocatello, Idaho, Helen’s journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to her passions and the people she held dear.

A beloved daughter of Wayne Franklin Christofferson and Gladys Elaine Davis, Helen was the eldest of seven siblings: Lela, Richard, Larry, Sandra, Tracey, and Kaye Lynn. Her early years in Pocatello were filled with promise and engagement, culminating in her graduation from Highland High School in 1965. During her time at Highland, Helen distinguished herself as an active participant in the Rodeo Club, Girls Council, and Pep Club, foreshadowing a lifetime devoted to leadership and service.

Helen’s love story blossomed with her marriage to her true love, Marvin Graham, solemnized on May 7, 1966, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Their union reflected the deep spiritual and familial values that would guide Helen through the years. Together, they nurtured a family grounded in faith and affection, bringing into the world three remarkable sons: Jefferson Shane Graham, Chase Dean Graham, and Casey Roy Graham. Helen’s family grew even richer with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each a testament to her enduring legacy.

A lifelong equestrian, Helen’s bond with horses began at the tender age of fourteen and became the foundation of her remarkable career. As a dedicated horse trainer, she not only honed the skills of her majestic steeds but also generously imparted her knowledge to countless individuals, teaching them to ride and care for their horses with patience and passion. Her expertise was complemented by the construction of an indoor riding arena, enabling her to pursue her love of riding year-round—a symbol of her unwavering devotion to this noble pursuit.

Helen’s contributions extended beyond the stable. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she embraced numerous roles that reflected her spirit of service. From Primary and Sunday School Teacher to Stake Primary President, her influence enriched the spiritual lives of many. Her commitment to education and community was further evidenced by her leadership in the Parent-Teacher Association at the state level, where she tirelessly advocated for children’s well-being and development.

Family reunions were a cherished tradition in Helen’s life, vibrant gatherings filled with camping, fishing, and the sharing of delicious food—occasions that underscored the warmth and closeness at the heart of her relationships. She passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by those she loved most, embodying the very essence of the affection and unity that had defined her days.

Helen Dawn Graham’s life story is one of grace, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to nurturing both horses and hearts alike. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Marvin Graham; her sons Jefferson, Chase, and Casey Graham; a large extended family; and a community that will forever remember her generous spirit and enduring legacy. Though her parents have preceded her in death, Helen’s memory endures, a shining beacon of love, strength, and inspiration to all who knew her.

There will be a celebration of life to honor Helen’s memory at noon on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E 100 S, Preston, ID. Inurnment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
