Obituary

George Brent Hatch, age 80, passed away on March 4, 2026, at his home in Dayton, ID. He was born on November 1945, in Murray, UT. He was a miracle baby. Weighing only 3 lbs. 9 oz. The son of Erle Brimhall Hatch and Stella Ethel Peterson Hatch. He has four sisters.

Brent served a mission in Auckland, New Zealand for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He has a deep love for the Mauri people. After his mission, he attended Brigham Young University. He married his sweetheart, Alice Susan Williams on December 6th,1968 in the Salt Lake City, UT Temple.

Brent worked with his father in a family construction business, United Enterprises. He worked in the family business at an early age and also after his mission. He developed and patented the Pipe Master, an automated drainage pipe laying machine in 1990. He worked at Mite Lite, a table and chair manufacturer, developing tools and machines for production. Brent built a portable sawmill. He cut lumber for many years. The lumber he cut was used in his home and other family homes, projects and sales. Brent enjoyed woodworking. He made large carved log signs that he sold to the Bar J Wranglers in Wyoming, the Juniper Inn in Logan, UT, and various other carved logs, wood furniture among other projects.  He enjoyed gardening, he and Susan were master gardeners and had a garden every summer.

Brent's whole life was devoted to his Savior, Jesus Christ, his family, truth, and freedom. He lived to serve, and when he saw someone in need, he did all he could to help. He always said, "Giving is Living".  He was a tremendous husband and father who will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Judy Guymon.

He is survived by his loving wife Alice Susan Williams Hatch, children: Erle (Chiara) Hatch, Jared (Chris) Hatch, Josh (Jenni) Hatch, Todd Hatch, Sharese Hatch, Ammon (Almira) Hatch, Aaron (Tina) Hatch. He is also survived by 23 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren. Three sisters: Colleen Pollitt, Mary Ross and Fern Law.

A graveside service to pay tribute to Brent Hatch will be held at the Dayton Idaho Cemetery on March 13 at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to join us.  Address: 4032 W. Hwy. 36 Dayton, Id. For those unable to attend in person, there will be a live stream feed of the services Click Here
