Gary Wayne Arbogast, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, made his final departure on October 29, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love and kindness. Born on November 5, 1960, in Lewiston, ID, Gary touched the lives of many with his generous spirit and unwavering dedication to those around him.
For nearly 40 years, Gary owned and operated his own carpet cleaning and janitorial company. Known not only for his work ethic but also for his vibrant personality, he had a remarkable gift for making those around him laugh. Gary was famous for his clever puns, always ready to amuse his friends and brighten their spirits. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel important and valued, a testament to his affectionate and loving nature.
Gary especially enjoyed time spent camping, hiking, and bicycling with his wife of 34 years, Shannon, and even, on occasion, with one or more of their cats. Dancing with Shannon was one of his greatest pleasures, and the two shared many beautiful moments filled with laughter and love on the dance floor.
Above all, Gary was a deeply spiritual man, having enjoyed a personal working relationship with his God, Jehovah, for 53 years. He served nearly 30 years as an elder in the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, dedicating himself to shepherding with love and care. His strong sense of duty and responsibility was evident in all he did, and he worked hard to ensure he was personally connected with those under his care on their spiritual journeys. Gary took this role seriously and was respected as a loving shepherd by all who knew him.
Gary is lovingly remembered by his wife, Shannon K. Arbogast, his brother Vern Arbogast and sister-in-law Illi Arbogast, and his sister Lea Ellen Young and her husband, Mickey Young. He also leaves behind nephews Aaron Young (and Jessica), Adam Young, and great-nieces and great-nephews Doré Lynn, Annie Belle, Daphne Jay, and Grayson Michael.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Mae Doreen Arbogast, who instilled in him a strong sense of responsibility to others.
As we mourn Gary’s passing, we hold dear the memories of his loving spirit, infectious humor, and unwavering commitment to helping others. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
At Gary's request, no services will be conducted at this time. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please leave a tribute on this page to share a favorite memory of Gary or offer condolences to the family.
