Galane Wyatt Lloyd was born on February 16th, 1929, in Wellsville, Utah, at her family home with the help of their family doctor.
She enjoyed her childhood growing up in Wellsville. She had fun with her childhood friends, and in her teenage years as well. Galane graduated from South Cache High School in 1947.
She met the love of her life, Dean M. Lloyd, at the Gold and Green Ball. That was the beginning of their courtship.
Jobs that Galane had as a teenager included picking pole beans and pie cherries in Brigham City, Utah. Later on, she worked at the Mode O' Day sewing shop and at Hugh's dress store in Logan, Utah.
Dean and Galane were married in the Logan Temple on May 17th 1949. They moved to Soda Springs, Idaho, where Dean farmed, served as chief of police, and later worked at the Monsanto plant.
Galane enjoyed their four daughters. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, and later on a grandmother.
Galane was a talented artist. She enjoyed drawing for the high school yearbooks, and later as a mother, she would draw paper dolls for her girls. She enjoyed sewing all of her daughters' clothes, school play costumes, Halloween costumes, and doll clothes and puppets. She also enjoyed embroidery, making quilts, and seasonal decor.
Galane enjoyed her home and yard. She loved making it look nice for her family. She enjoyed doing yard work with her husband, Dean.
Galane was an excellent cook and pie maker. She was known by friends and family for the best homemade pie crust.
She loved the holidays, especially Halloween. She made the holidays special for her family.
Galane was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings and put her whole heart into each.
Galane passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on the morning of July 13th 2026, at the Heritage Memory Care Center in Preston, Idaho. We will miss her dearly.
Galane is survived by her four daughters: Peggy Hunsaker, Linda (Charlie) Tate, Julie (Herb) Sturm, and Cindy (Rick) Gee. Also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Connie Janis, and niece Susan Hurren.
Galane is preceded in death by: her husband Dean Myers Lloyd, her parents, Earl and Elsie Wyatt, sister, Doreen Allen, brother in law, Clayton Allen, brother, LaVal Wyatt and sister in law, Louise Wyatt, brother Reed Wyatt and sister in law Lori Wyatt, son in law Clark Hunsaker and brother in law Mike Janis and nephew Kim Allen, nephew Kenneth Wyatt, and niece Jody Wyatt.
Viewing will be held Monday, July 20th, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by the funeral at 11:00 am at Red Rose Funeral Home at 56 South State Street in Preston, Idaho. Followed by the Interment at Fair View Cemetery at 148 S. Main Street, Soda Springs, Idaho. For those unable to attend in person, there will be a live stream of the services at the link below.
