Doris “Kaye” Dahle Taylor (Grandma Kaye), age 77, of Mendon, Utah, passed away on March 2, 2026
For more than twelve years, Kaye battled dementia. Throughout that difficult journey, her devoted husband, David, cared for her with unwavering love, tenderness, and steadfast devotion — a beautiful example of lifelong commitment.
Kaye was born October 9, 1948, in Logan, Utah, to Alton B. Dahle and Iola Humphreys Dahle. She graduated from Logan High School in 1966 and later worked as a secretary in the Animal Science Building at Utah State University. Her greatest joy was becoming a homemaker that made everyone who entered her home feel loved.
On September 20, 1968, she married the love of her life, David Oliver Taylor. Together they raised four children: Kirk, Greg, Brad, and Amber. Kaye was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her kindness, generosity and many talents.
Kaye was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many ward and stake callings. She had a true gift for service and a deep love for her community. She served as secretary for Mendon Planning and Zoning and was actively involved in local events. She lovingly sewed over 300 May Day dresses, countless streamers for the community and co-founded Mendon’s first quilt guild, Patchwork Friends, where she formed lasting friendships and mentored young quilters.
Creativity was central to Kaye’s life. She enjoyed quilting, toll painting, oil painting, sewing, cross-stitch, crochet, and crafting of all kinds. She loved spending time with her sisters organizing boutiques and shopping. She had a love for antiques, collecting cherished items, and sharing those joys with family and friends. Kaye also loved taking her family to plays and concerts. She loved spending time making memories with her children and grand-children at the cabin. Grandma Kaye always made sure there was a craft or activity to keep everyone busy.
Kaye was a wonderful cook and treasured gathering her family for Sunday dinners. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, supporting them in their activities, and making memories together. David and Kaye had a special spot at the Mendon ballpark where they enjoyed watching softball games and fireworks side by side.
She is survived by her husband, David Taylor; her children Kirk (Jen) Taylor, Greg (Becki) Taylor, Brad (Marcy) Taylor, Amber (Justin) Francis; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and her siblings Burdell Dahle, LaDawn Shaffer, Ray (Mardean) Dahle, Charlene Brown and in-laws Laverna Taylor, Blaine (Doreen) Taylor and Paul (Patty) Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Iola Dahle; her in-laws, Fred and Melba Taylor; her sister, Faye; her brother-in-law, Kent Shaffer; and her sister-in-law, Peggy Dahle.
Friends, neighbors and family are invited to attend a celebration of life on Friday March 6, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mendon Church located at 20 North 100 West in Mendon, Utah.
