Preston, ID

Preston, ID – Diane Ruth Maddock, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-

grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Preston, Idaho, on June 26, 2025. She was

born on October 11, 1940, in Auburn, California, to her loving parents, Art and Jeanne Lowen.

Diane's life was a testament to her devotion to family. She met her high school sweetheart,

Gerald E. Maddock, and they were later married for eternity in the Los Angeles Temple. Their

enduring love story became the foundation of a large and joyous family. Diane dedicated her life

to nurturing her eight children: Randall (Jackie), Kevin (Beth), Natalie Hansen (Todd),

Damon (Nicole), Andrea Cooney (Michael), Jeremy (Tori), Patrick (Cheltsea), and Suzanne

Lyon (Brandon). Her greatest passion was her family, and she found immense joy in tending to

her children and grandchildren, and loved watching them dance and play sports. Her legacy

extends to her 35 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought

immeasurable light into her life.

Diane loved to cook, creating countless cherished meals and memories. She was a faithful

member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held various callings,

particularly enjoying her time serving with the youth and primary children. Her life serves as a

guiding light, inspiring those she loved to carry forward the values she embodied. She will be

remembered for her compassionate nature and the loving impact she made on everyone fortunate

enough to know her.

Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald, all of her children, her sister Sandra Wells,

and her brother Ken Lowen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Jeanne Lowen,

and her brother, Rodney.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice nurses and Dr. Avery Jeffers for their

loving care during Diane's final weeks.
