IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Craig Leatham
Smith
May 12, 1950 – January 10, 2026
Craig Leatham Smith, 75, of Logan, Utah, passed away on the morning of January 10th.
Craig was an amazing man with a passion for life. He was an inspirational father, and a loving son and brother of a very tight-knit family. He was a great friend to a remarkable number of awesome people, and as his friends and family can attest, he made this world a better, brighter place.
Craig was known for his sense of humor and his big personality. He was very outgoing and really loved people. He was also a deep, thoughtful, spiritual man who loved to have long conversations about the things that matter most in life.
Craig was a creator and a builder:
He was a talented drummer and a lover of music. He played in several excellent bands, including My Friends and Diamondback. Craig helped instill an early love of music in his sons, and had the opportunity to play music with them on many occasions.
Craig worked in construction most of his life; he was extremely skilled at drywall, stucco, plastering, and rock work. His commitment to producing outstanding work was unswerving. He taught many apprentices over his lifetime as well, and each one of them will remember, along with the hard work, the memorable moments spent when Craig said it was time to “take five.”
Craig was born on May 12th, 1950, in Logan, Utah, to John William Smith and Evelyn Parker Leatham. He is survived by his sons, Matthew, Jed, and Brett (and Nicole); by his partner, Joyce Westmoreland; by his siblings Rod Smith, Pam (and Gary) Anderson, Annie (and Bob) Emmett, Jana (and Mike) Hansen, and Mark (and Melissa) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brandon.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Craig on a date near his birthday in May.
