Obituary

Claris Durrant LeFevre, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, was reunited with her beloved husband Garth when she peacefully passed away on July 29, 2026, in Logan, Utah, at the age of 80.

Claris was born on April 14, 1946, to Orval Dean Durrant and Julia Ann Shaffer Durrant in Preston, Idaho. She was the youngest of six children and cherished the close bonds she shared with her family throughout her life.

On February 14, 1963, she married the love of her life, Garth D. LeFevre, in the Logan Utah Temple. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with eight children, creating a legacy of faith, family, and service that continues through generations.

Claris was preceded in death by her husband Garth D. LeFevre—as well as her parents Orval and Julia Durrant, and siblings Darvel Durrant and Sharon Durrant.

She is survived by her eight children: Connie (Myron) Egbert of Nibley, Utah; Christy Ann (Scott) Coulson of Fairview, Idaho; Garth Anthony (Ami) LeFevre of Hyde Park, Utah; Cathy (Shawn) Thrasher of Spring Creek, Nevada; Cindy (Jeff) Wilson of Spring Creek, Nevada; Blake (Diana) LeFevre of Murphysboro, Illinois; Van Kenneth (Shannon) LeFevre of Caldwell, Idaho; and Craig Daniel (Taryn) LeFevre of Nampa, Idaho. She also leaves behind 29 cherished grandchildren and 40 treasured great- grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.

Claris found her greatest happiness in spending time with family and friends. She especially loved supporting her children and grandchildren in their many activities and accomplishments. Her home was often filled with the warmth of her many talents and hobbies, including quilting, sewing, canning, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and completing countless word search puzzles.

For the last 37 years, Claris made her home in Spring Creek, Nevada. Before settling there, she lived in Fairview, Idaho; Elko, Nevada; and Lewiston, Utah. No matter where she lived, she was known for her kindness, quiet strength, and willingness to serve others.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Claris faithfully served in numerous callings throughout her life. Her service included serving in Young Women, Primary, and Relief Society presidencies, where she touched many lives through her compassion, testimony, and dedication to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Claris will be remembered for her loving devotion to her family, her generous heart, and the example she set through a life of service. Her influence will continue to bless the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will take place in Lewiston, Utah Cemetery on August 22, 2026, at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. To share a favorite memory of Claris or to offer condolences to her family, please leave a tribute on this page.
