Obituary

Brenda Sue Griffeth, a woman whose greatest expressions often came through the work of her hands, passed away July 9, 2026.

Brenda was born on July 26, 1956 in Dennison, Ohio. She married James Griffeth in 1973 and together they welcomed six children into their family. Throughout the years, she devoted much of her time to homemaking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and collecting recipes that reflected her lifelong love of cooking.

Brenda possessed an extraordinary gift for creating with thread and yarn. She found purpose in making things that were both beautiful and useful. Blankets, quilts, dresses, and handmade keepsakes became lasting reminders of her patience, craftsmanship, and dedication to her work.

She also had a lifelong love of cooking and collecting recipes. She enjoyed discovering new dishes, preserving favorite recipes, and spending time in the kitchen, where her interest in food and homemaking became another expression of her creativity.

She lived life in her own way, finding satisfaction in creating, mending, and making. Those who knew her will remember the skill she brought to everything she crafted, her appreciation for good food and treasured recipes, and the many handmade gifts that remain as part of her legacy.

Brenda is survived by her loving husband of almost 53 years, her children, extended family members, and friends. May those who knew her find comfort in remembering the work of her hands and the quiet legacy she leaves behind.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Dayton Cemetery. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the graveside services at the Red Rose Funeral Home, 56 S State Street, Preston.

In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations to help offset funeral expenses. Donations can be made directly to the funeral home with the donate link located below.
